After finally receiving a confirmation on the date for the start of demolition, the demo guy ended up doing a no-show on Monday to much disappointment. Apparently the chance of rain scared him off but at most it may have been a very light shower over the whole day.
On Tuesday they finally turned up. This photo was taken at the end of the day.
Looks to be some old weatherboard hiding under some of the asbestos sheets removed on the side of the house.
End of Wednesday there didn't seem much progress looking from the outside of the house. Not even sure anyone turned up today but the builder assures us that the demo guy took a truck load of rubbish away. Hmmmm... i dunno. Spot the difference from the previous day. Every bit of rubbish on the ground seems to be in exactly the same place as yesterday. At the least the builder knows we are going to keep'm honest.
On Thursday it looks like they took off some more asbestos sheeting around the house exposing more of that lovely old dirty weatherboard.
On Friday it didn't look like there was any change at all. Not sure if they turned up. What a waste of a day!
We went past Saturday around 1pm and wasn't expecting much progress but this is what we saw.
This huge demolition excavator seems to have done a quick job and easily smashed up the house in pieces!
Cleaning up the mess
The site finally cleared. Took a week for them to clear out the mess.
